Safe Handling And Maintenance Guidelines

Attaching

Note: Before placing the magnet, make sure the area is clean with no obstructions present.

1. With the magnet at a 45° angle, place the edge of the pot housing against the area where the magnet is intended to be attached.
2. Bring the handle part downwards while maintaining control of the pull force until the magnet is fully attached.
3. Before any load is applied, check that the face of the magnet is flush and in full contact with the ferromagnetic material with no obstructions.

Detaching

Detach the magnet by pulling upward on the rear end of the handle, away from the magnetic surface.

All working load must be applied through the eye nut only. The handle is designed solely to assist with controlled removal and positioning. Applying load to the handle instead of the eye nut may cause the magnet to release unexpectedly.

Always

• Always rinse magnets with fresh water after contact with salt water and remove any moisture directly afterwards.
• Always keep the surface of the magnet clean and remove any iron filings or small metal particles. Wipe frequently with a wire brush or rag.
• Always store magnets in a low humidity and mild temperature environment, away from sensitive electrical equipment.
• Always avoid collisions between magnets and heavy impacts against hard surfaces.

Do Not

• Do not test your magnet or hold it near a metal object — the pull force will move uncontrollably, causing pinch points, damage and demagnetisation.
• Do not drop or allow magnets to collide with hard surfaces or other magnets — this causes damage to personnel, magnets and demagnetisation.
• Do not test your magnet by hanging from or underneath it — the magnet can detach and may cause injury.
• Do not use magnet for lifting or rigging applications — it is not certified lifting gear.
• Do not leave metal objects such as needles, knives or tools near magnets — they will be attracted unexpectedly and can cause injuries.
• Do not machine cut or drill magnets — drilling dust and shavings could ignite.
• Do not remove or damage the coatings — this will cause oxidation and demagnetisation.

IMPORTANT — READ BEFORE USE. Neodymium magnets are extremely strong. Improper handling can cause injury, equipment damage, or serious hazards.

• Handle with care: Can snap together violently, causing crushing injuries
• Not a toy: Keep away from children/pets. Choking and internal injury hazard if swallowed
• Field hazards: Affects pacemakers, medical implants, credit cards, electronics
• Required PPE: Protective gloves for larger magnets; safety glasses when magnets may collide

Handling, Storage & Environment

• Slide magnets together, never let them snap
• Use non-magnetic spacers for separation
• Store in cool, dry place with protective packaging
• Max temp ~80°C, avoid heat/flame
• Rinse after saltwater use, dry thoroughly
• Can corrode if coating damaged

Diving-Specific Safety

• Use safety lanyards to prevent loss
• Test attachment on surface first
• Beware strong pull near metal structures
• Keep away from dive computers/compasses
• Plan exit strategy before attaching

Health & Safety Precautions

• Medical Devices: Keep away from pacemakers, ICDs, insulin pumps. Consult doctor if you have implants.
• Allergies: Coatings often contain nickel. Avoid prolonged contact if sensitive.
• Children & Pets: Keep away at all times. Choking hazard. Swallowed magnets cause life-threatening injury.

Electronic Interference

Strong magnetic fields can damage: dive computers, cameras, smartphones, credit cards, magnetic ID/media, and data storage devices. Maintain safe distance during use and storage.

Machining & Dust Hazards

• Do NOT cut, drill, or grind without industrial equipment
• Magnet dust is highly flammable
• Never drop — can cause internal cracking
